Preserved Snowflake Mountain Art, 20mm Kyanite Mountain Display, Real Snow Cryst

Own a little piece of a Colorado winter storm, collected by hand and transformed into a one-of-a-kind miniature mountain landscape.
This unique 20mm preserved snowflake display brings together a real snow crystal, beautiful kyanite, and a tiny bird silhouette within a mountain-inspired scene. The delicate geometry of the snowflake contrasts with the rugged mineral formations, while the little bird adds a quiet touch of life to the winter landscape.
Though only 20 millimeters in size, this tiny artwork captures the feeling of a much larger world, where mountains meet the winter sky and a single snowflake becomes part of the scenery.

Every snowflake begins high within the clouds, where changing temperatures and humidity shape its intricate crystalline structure. By the time it reaches the ground, each crystal carries a tiny record of its journey through the atmosphere.
During active Colorado winter storms, I carefully collect snowflakes by hand and preserve them while working below freezing. Temperature, humidity, wind, light, and even a single breath can affect these delicate formations before preservation is complete.
What I especially love about these miniature mountain landscapes is how much of the natural world can be brought together in such a small space.
The kyanite creates a rugged mountain-inspired setting, while the tiny bird silhouette adds a little movement and life to the scene. Nestled among these details is a real preserved snowflake, a delicate piece of winter that would ordinarily disappear within moments.
Together, these elements bring geology, weather, wildlife, and art into one tiny composition.
No two snowflakes are ever exactly alike, making every finished piece completely one of a kind.
