12 Point Preserved Snowflake Art, 25mm Real Snowflake Glass Resin Display, Rare
Own a remarkable little piece of a Colorado winter storm, collected by hand and transformed into a one-of-a-kind work of natural art.
This extraordinary 25mm preserved snowflake display features a naturally formed 12-point snow crystal, carefully collected during a Colorado snowfall and permanently preserved within glass and resin.
While snowflakes are most commonly recognized for their sixfold symmetry, some develop unusual formations that create the appearance of twelve distinct points. These fascinating crystals are often the result of twinning, when two sixfold snow crystals grow together in different orientations.
The result is an intricate arrangement of delicate branches and extraordinary natural geometry, a beautiful reminder of just how surprising the smallest details of nature can be.

Every snowflake begins high within the clouds, where changing temperatures and humidity influence its intricate crystalline structure. As each crystal grows, it develops delicate branches and geometric patterns shaped by the atmospheric conditions it encounters.
Although the underlying structure of ordinary ice crystals has sixfold symmetry, occasionally two crystals grow together, creating remarkable formations that appear to have twelve points.
These unusual snow crystals are especially fascinating to discover during a winter storm, offering a glimpse into the incredible variety of structures that can form naturally within the clouds.
During active Colorado snowfalls, I carefully collect these delicate crystals by hand and preserve them while working below freezing. Temperature, humidity, wind, light, and even a single breath can affect a snowflake before preservation is complete.
Collecting snowflakes is always a little race against time, and discovering an unusual formation makes the experience even more memorable.
What I especially love about this twelve-point snowflake is how beautifully it challenges our familiar idea of what a snowflake should look like.
We often imagine six perfectly arranged branches, yet nature has an extraordinary way of creating unexpected variations. This little crystal is a wonderful example of the complexity hidden within something as ordinary as falling snow.
Once preserved, a formation that would otherwise disappear within moments becomes a lasting piece of natural art.
No two snowflakes are ever exactly alike, making every finished piece completely one of a kind. The exact artwork shown in the listing photographs is the one you will receive.
