Preserved Snowflake Mountain Storm Cluster, 50mm Kyanite and Wildflower Art, Rea

Own a little piece of a Colorado mountain storm, collected by hand and transformed into a one-of-a-kind work of natural art.
This extraordinary 50mm preserved snowflake display brings together real snow crystal storm clusters, beautiful kyanite, and preserved wildflowers in a miniature mountain-inspired landscape.
Rather than showcasing a single snowflake, this piece holds a gathering of naturally formed snow crystals, with delicate branches, overlapping formations, and intricate details captured from a Colorado winter storm. The addition of kyanite and preserved wildflowers brings together the beauty of winter, the earth, and the changing seasons within one unique composition.

Every snowflake begins high within the clouds, where changing temperatures and humidity shape its intricate crystalline structure. As snow crystals travel toward the ground, they sometimes collide and gather together, forming beautiful clusters that carry a tiny record of the winter storm.
During active Colorado snowfalls, I carefully collect these delicate formations by hand and preserve them while working below freezing. Temperature, humidity, wind, light, and even a single breath can affect the crystals before preservation is complete.
What I especially love about these mountain-inspired pieces is the way they bring together different parts of the natural world.
The kyanite introduces beautiful mineral formations reminiscent of rugged mountain landscapes, while the preserved wildflowers offer a delicate reminder of the warmer seasons. Among them, the real snowflake clusters preserve the intricate geometry of winter itself.
Together, these elements create a tiny landscape where geology, botany, weather, and art meet.
Each snow crystal formed naturally within the clouds, each wildflower once grew beneath the open sky, and each mineral carries its own geological history. No two arrangements can ever be recreated exactly alike.
