Every snowflake begins high within the clouds, where changing temperatures and humidity shape its intricate crystalline structure. As snow crystals travel toward the ground, they may collide and gather together, creating beautiful clusters of delicate branches and formations.
During active Colorado winter storms, I carefully collect these tiny crystals by hand and preserve them while working below freezing. Temperature, humidity, wind, light, and even a single breath can affect their fragile structures before preservation is complete.
What makes this particular pendant so special is the gathering of snowflakes across its different shapes and sizes. Some crystals are beautifully defined, while others overlap and form intricate little clusters, each one preserving a different moment from the snowfall.
